Who are we?

Les Soirées de Blauzac, an association (law 1901 - W302009239), was created in January 2012, by a group of volunteers, residents of Blauzac and music lovers. The association produced a 3 day summer jazz festival and occasional musical events in the winter.

The essential objective was to assure the longevity of an open air jazz festival Jazz à Blauzac on the church square the first week-end of July. A huge band of volunteers from the village helped to made this happen.

In winter the association put on a variety of musical events with free entry, in the village church. One of the principal objectives of Les Soirées de Blauzac was to make sure that its concerts and festival are accsessible to all, and so put in place a policy of membership and sponsoriship to achieve this. It also believes that it is fundemental to include the population of the village, in particular the music school students and local businesses, in its actions.

Early in 2015 the association was proud to announce that it had recieved accreditation from the Pont du Gard on the 30th anniversary of its inclusion on the list of UNESCO World heritage sites.

Having celebrated its 10th festival in 2022, the committee decided to look for a successor. Unfortunely no one came forward and so the festival will no longer take place. There will still be at least 2 concerts programmed in the village hall during the year & the free concerts in the road with the Blauzac Big Band & support artists will still take place the first weekend of July while a successor is found.
