An evening in 3 sets: Acoustic Jazz Duo ; Electric Blues Trio ; Jazz & Swing Quintet



Remi Harris is an exceptional British Jazz & Blues guitarist from the UK who had a huge success on the Blauzac stage in 2017. Remi also has his own jazz club from where the Jazz à Blauzac team came up with the idea to invite Remi to take over the programming of an evening (a first for Blauzac). An evening of 3 sets with very accomplished musicians, all stars in the UK and beyond.

Remi's unique style draws inspiration from artists such as Django Reinhardt, Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, Peter Green and Led Zeppelin. He has performed at Buckingham Palace, Montreal Jazz Festival, BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall with Jamie Cullum, on BBC 4 Television and live on BBC Radio 2 & 3.

In his live shows Remi plays an eclectic mix of jazz standards, improvisations, original compositions and new arrangements of his favourite tunes. He plays a variety of acoustic and electric guitars and the shows are interspersed with his commentary about the history of the music and instruments he’s playing. Remi will be accompanied by:


Matthew Peter Brown - Drums

Matt drummer/composer born and living in Bristol, UK is constantly in demand due to his uniquely musical and ever creative approach firmly rooted in groove and with taste. In 2014 due to his work with Dakhla Brass, Matt was featured in the ‘10 Top British Newcomers’ article of top UK drums magazine ‘Rhythm’.  He shares composition duties in that project and has had regular airplay from BBC Radio  as well Dakhla Brass being asked to join Jamie Cullum at his Prom in The Royal Albert Hall in 2016 and playing Montreal Jazz festival that year too.  Matt plays in many other original outfits such as Improv trio Modulus III, Sefrial and Dan Messore’s ‘Alaias’. 



James Andrew Brownfield - Trumpet

It all began at the age of 9 when Jamie was taught the cornet at school. He continued learning the ropes in his local brass band and eventually became principle cornet in the youth band and progressed to the adult ‘silver’ band. After many years he left the brass band world and joined a big band the famous ‘Bill Basey Big Band’. After meeting the saxophonist Liam Byrne they started their own band together, which became ‘The Brownfield Byrne Quintet’ or ‘BBQ’. In 2016 Jamie formed his own group, The Jamie Brownfield Quartet”. They recorded their first CD ‘Go Down To New Orleans’ in 2016 and were awarded a place of the ‘Jazz North’ scheme in 2017, allowing them to tour the North of the country with extra funding. In 2012 Jamie was awarded 1st place in the ‘Rising Star’ category of the British Jazz Awards. Other than his own groups, he regularly appears as a guest with house rhythm sections and clubs, festivals, shows etc.


Natalia Amy Douglas – Vocals

In 2013 Natalia joined a band (Café Manouche) with her partner Matt and his two brothers. Playing their own take on jazz Manouche with the added vocals. The band regularly perform all over the UK and London. Natalia’s voice is very soulful and really swings, she has many favourite singers and influences, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughn to name a few...

Thomas James Moore - Double Bass

Graduating from The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2011 where he is currently based, Tom has since been regularly performing around the UK with a variety of bands and musical projects. Starting at a young age on guitar, quickly moving to the electric bass and joining local youth bands, he was able to perform at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall and The North Sea Jazz Festival and more recently supporting Jools Holland with singer-songwriter Purdy.
